Carpet Shopping

The dangers...

The pile of carpets was so heavy that it literally knocked me right over and I couldn't get my leg out from underneath on my own. Luckily the shop owner had stepped out when this happened.

The rewards...

But we ended up with this beautiful Iranian silk carpet.

The Emir

Today The Emir of Kuwait passed away. This is the second time that we have been living somewhere when the leader died, the other being King Hassan of Morocco.

Old Family Photos

Recently the Werbergs have gotten in touch with another long lost family member in Germany. He confirmed that Adolf was actually born Blauer and changed his name to Werberg which was the name of a nearby town. He sent this picture of Sam's great grandparents and their three sons. Sam's grandfather is the one in the middle.
