Political Webwork

Whatever your politics, it's always fun to see some innovative use of the web and new media to tell a story. Here's a good example about what went down in Florida in 2000.

Arlington National Cemetery

With some friends from NY, we toured Arlington National Cemetery today. It was pretty cold, and the sun was going down, but we managed to see the JFK memorial, and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

I wish I was more active in taking pictures and posting them online. The photoblog site is a great inspiration.

Movin' on up

To the east side, to a deluxe apartment in the sky. So we've moved into the Courtland Towers, where we'll be staying for a few months. It's basically a glorified hotel room, but a nice one. Decent furniture, large rooms, walk-in closet, and a balcony. Denise was one-for-two in her predictions about the apartment. There is a framed picture of flowers on the wall, but the dining room table is wood, not glass with gold trim.

First thing to set up was the 802.11 wireless network, of course.

The view from the balcony.

There is a gym, a game room, an indoor and outdoor pool, and more in the "community", as these places are known. There may also be a small amusement park and a skateboard park, who knows...

Virginia

We're in Fairfax now, staying with some friends, until we move into our new apartment on the 10th. We're moving into the Courtland Towers, a large high-rise in Arlington. We'll probably stay there a few months, then maybe look for cheaper digs when the per diem goes down.
