Fun with Cardboard

Originally when I saw all the boxes with our stuff I had grand plans for the coolest, cheapest, playhouse ever. Then I got lazy, dialed a magic number and told them to come pick up all the boxes. A friend re-motivated me so I kept two boxes. Not the coolest playhouse ever, but still a lot of fun with just a little bit of cutting. When they get bored with it as is, I'll bust out the paint, that should kill an afternoon...

And in case anyone is wondering about Dylan's hair, last time I shaved it too short so I was going to go a bit longer this time. Instead, by accident mid-cut, I used the over the ear attachment. Oops, so we end up even shorter this time, but Dylan is a great sport about the whole thing and still looks pretty cute to me.

Stuff

We got some stuff! Still a long way to go, all our things from Pittsburgh and from Bangkok, but we are happy to have a few things and the kids are glad to have some actual toys.

The kids have been doing great but they are getting a little sick of the same 3 toys and same 10 books so it was time for something new and fun. Dad went out shopping and came home with the only pool he could find. Again, not necessarily my first choice but easily forgotten by seeing the amount of fun it provided.

Poor Dylan

So again, our rooms all look so sad right now but I just had to post this photo of Dylan's sleeping situation. It's great that they lend us something while we wait for our crib but I have to say this "crib" has been a little scary. It's really more of a bassinet, when Dylan stands up his waist is about at the top of the rail, hence the mattress on the ground. Thankfully he hasn't launched himself out yet. Oh and I try to not even think about how the slats are installed underneath the mattress.

Our Room

The rooms look a bit empty and random right now since we still only have what we brought with us on the plane. I'm happy that they put curtains up for us yesterday but the colors are not necessarily what we would pick, although Dylan did get a decent blue and Ava is happy with her dark red.
